Can migraines be a side effect of ct iv contrast dye? had contrast before w/o issue. today got migraine 15-20 min post-contrast injection.

Possible: Depending on the dye used sometimes it's cumulatively in the system for a while, even though it depots into tissue. So do make sure you're hydrating well enough that it would dilute the effects of the contrast dye. Make sure you didn't possibly eat or do any of the triggers that are known to cause migraines too. You had a big procedure done, that can add stress and anxiety to it as well.
