BM and baby: Babies poop at very different intervals. GENERALLY breast fed babies poop more frequently than formula fed/supplemented babies. If you child is not in any distress I would NOT be doing rectal probing to force a BM. Only a trained physician should perform this as serious injury can occur to your child. Expect breast fed baby to poop 3-6 times a day and formula fed baby maybe 2-3 a day on ave.
