Very common: problem. The pain of sensitive teeth can be managed with a few simple home remedies. Your dentist is right about the Sensodyne tooth paste. Avoid using hard-bristled toothbrushes and avoid hard foods. Also avoid or limit acidic items like sodas, tomatoes, oranges and lemons.

Cold Sensitivity: Acid foods are a likely cause. Especially OJ. Eating an orange is OK because the pulp buffers the acid. Tooth paste abrasion is the next culprit. Use a gel or mouth wash to brush your teeth. Sensidyne is great but don't brush with it. Apply a thin smear to senstive teeth,at the gum line, just after you brush for bed. Spit excesses out.At night your teeth will remineralize and be less sensitive.

Sensitive teeth: Let your dentist know that and ask about what else to do. Bruxusm can make your teeth sensitive to cold and pressure.
