My bp has gone from 125/80 to 150/90 since my doc put me on me regular benicar (olmesartan) vs. benicar (olmesartan) hct, which i was on prior. i have concerns...

You're right!: Benicar (olmesartan) alone is less potent than Benicar (olmesartan) HCT - why did he/she switch you? There may have been an important reason!

There could be other reasons like if your blood sugar, calcium, or BUN were elevated on it. If he's not going to use HCT, he may need to add a second med but HCT adds no cost and usually has no side effects, plus there is good outcome data, so I use it a lot, myself.
