Pregnancy test: you must do a pregnancy test when your period is delayed if you are sexually active. that is just safe and simple. it is best to start your BCP after menses start. less issues with irregular bleeding. patience is key.

Anovulation: A missed period, if not pregnant, is a sign of a possible hormonal imbalance. Pcos or polycystic ovarian syndrome may also cause your condition. Also, avoid plastic proiducts with bpa or bisphenol-a which is a hormone disruptor. Do a little research on products which contain this chemical. Dr. Mercola's website is one (www.Mercola.Com).

No short answer: It can be many things, for instance stress can cause us to have irregular menses, and ovarian cysts or a hormonal imbalance are some of the common reasons for missing your menses. Also, some people do not have a menses on birth control as the lining of the uterus thins out.
