Amenorrhea: After excluding pregnancy, we usually like to conduct a thorough history (including meds, family history, looking for abnormal hair growth, or signs of thyroid disease) and pelvic exam. Lab workup includes TSH and prolactin level and possible a Progesterone challenge test. Finding the right treatment for missed periods requires finding the cause of the missed periods in the first place.
