Yes: Visit your doctor. What you are experiencing is called pre-herpecic neuralgia. You doctor may prescribe antivirals and/ or steroids which could stop the outbreak or decrease the length of the outbreak. Hope this helps!

Yes! Get an ID doc!: If you act very quickly, you can maybe stop the shingles from coming out. Certainly a prodromal 'tingling' in a 'nerve root' distribution (dermatome) is a sign. You need to get someone who 'knows' about shingles however to jump on your case -otherwise the rash will come out , and in some ways it will be too late -- although the rash can still be attenuated with Tx in 72 hrs. I recc ER and ID doc
