Variable: Post herpetic neuralgia can last a variable time from weeks to tears. Your Lyrica (pregabalin) dose is low. Have they tied an antiviral like valtrex. Zanother excellent option is the newer medication gralise.

Other treatment : Acyclovir and predinosone will help reduce your pain. Narcotics and topical capsiacin or Lidocaine patches could be used. Pain can be debilitating discuss this options with your doctor.

Tough situation.: Dr anyanwu provides some advice regarding current management, and this is a workable approach. However, you are seemingly still on low dose lyrica, (pregabalin) and total daily dosing up to 600 mg per day may be needed., so this could be titrated upwards. If you have acute shingles, this may last only a few weeks and resolve, but you may require Lyrica (pregabalin) for several months. Hope you feel better.
