Complications of Flu: Arm weakness could be from guillain barre syndrome, an infection, which can be caused by an autoimmune response to an influenza infection. Gbs causes muscle weakness. Gastroenteritis , also called "stomach flu" may be causing stomach problems. Pneumonia, which may occur as a complication of influenza could be the cause of chest symptoms and production of a reddish brown sputum. Consult your pcp.
