Sore throat: If this condition is due to a simple virus, then salt water gargles, tea with honey, lozenges, frozen treats, acetaminophen, naproxen, or ibuprofen are all options that can be tried at home. If this has a bacterial cause, it needs evaluation by a doctor and the prescription of antibiotics.
