Yes, it is OK: You can use Celexa and Xanax (alprazolam) together. There is no drug interaction and these are two completely different medication groups. It's always best to take any medication under a doctors instructions.

Probably ok but...: Citalopram (Celexa) is an SSRI medication approved for major depression. The FDA lowered the maximum recommended dose from 60 mg to 40 mg due to potential for heart rhythm problems. Alprazolam (Xanax) is a benzodiazepine indicated for short-term control of anxiety. The two medications have no know interactions, if taken as directed.
