Standing Knee pain: Stair pain can indicate meniscal injury, and if this does not exist, do you have loose bodies that need to be removed? X-rays will show if this is present and then you can discuss with your orthopedist if surgery is needed including risks and benefits of surgery. A good exam should determine if the pathology in within or outside of knee joint and treatments can start.
