Low IgG: Immunoglobulins are a type of protein made by your body to help protect it against infections. There are five types of immunoglobulins: IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG, and IgM. Each of these has a slightly different function in infection fitting. Hypogammaglobulinemia refers to low levels of IgG the primary infection fighting antibody. The most common form in adults is common variable immune deficiency.

Hypergammaglobulinem: This may reflect a chronic infection or overproduction of gammaglobulin which may have no immune function and may be harmful. You need to consult an allergist/immunologist if the level is consistently higher than the upper limit (perhaps by 20%).
