Depends on situation: Any fourteen yo that has finished growing taller, and has a real problem carrying over-sized breasts is a candidate for a reduction. This is major surgery and should be approached with caution and an understanding of the expected outcome and risks.I've only recommended it twice in 3 decades, but in both cases it was a 14-16 yo and both achieved better health afterward.

Not necessarily…: Juvenile breast hypertrophy, along with the physical and psychosocial consequences of this diagnosis, may be an appropriate reason to proceed with breast reduction surgery at a relatively young age. In my practice, timing of breast reduction surgery is determined on a case-by-case basis. Seek consultation with well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons for best advice. Best wishes.
