What happens if you have shingles, how common is postherpetic neuralgia?

Common: Shingles is latent chicken pox virus that affects a single nerve when it is exacerbated. Even though shingles is common, post herpatic neuralgia is less so. With proper initial treatment the complication can be minimized but not eliminated.
