Another day: Another day an the swelling should be going down. Once you are over the initial trauma. If there is a nagging persistent throbbing that won't go away you probably have a dry socket. It is more of annoyance, not as painful as the initial post op from surgery and goes away on its own in 10 days without tx. There are treatments that will relieve dry socket pain quickly. So don't worry so much.
