Genetic alterations in the Y-chromosome, Mitochondrial DNA and Single base pair changes (SNPs). These are compared to registry databases. If you have genetic traits of Asians it means that you have Asian ancestry. How you define being part Asian is more of a personal question then a genetic one

No asian genetics: the difference between ethnic groups is primarily different frequencies of the same genetic variants. It is quite rare to find a single genetic variant in one ethnic group. There are likely hundreds of different asian ethnic groups.
