A tough problem: Hidradenitis is a tough problem to deal with. It is normal to have flares where an abscess (or boil) will develop leading to pain/infection. There are topical antibiotics that can help, as does good hygiene. Ultimately, the boils may need to be incised to allow the infection to drain out. If the problem is severe enough, it may require cutting out all the tissue and doing reconstruction
