Count carbs : In advance let your child know when and how much will be allowed and make appropriate Insulin adjustments . Encourage healthy foods and set real limits.

Use other treats: Tell your child he/she will get a special halloween treat that is not candy because of the diabetes and that you will give him/her something special to make them feel special.
