A member asked:

Can you tell me about immune thrombocytic purpura; is it really that major of an illness?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It still kills folks: Often it's trivial, with platelet counts in the 90,000's. In other folks, it's deadly, even refractory to splenectomy and immunosuppression. Work closely with your physician on this and best wishes.
