No crystal ball...: If by "reg cholesterol" you mean "total", then 187mg/dL is pretty good. We used to recommend TC less than 200mg/dL w/goal triglyceride less than 150mg/dL. So 247mg/dL is kinda high but not horribly so (that's greater than 500mg/dL) at which we can then talk to him about medicines to lower TG & risk for pancreatitis etc. Still, it would be a good idea to focus on lifestyle modification & recheck
