It depends on : Their level of functioning. I would require that they B in therapy & under supervision of a psychiatrist 2 insure they R on the right medications & keep them regulated properly. If they R working contributing financially makes sense. If not, treatment could have getting back 2 work as a goal. Some family therapy is also adviseable. If they regress U should be in communication w' their therapist.

Yes: You will need to set down some home rules including that. Patient's with bipolar disorder need structure. And even sitting down to sign off on a home rules contract would be a really good idea. Take care.
