Psychiatric eval: If you are very worried, follow your instinct and ask the pediatrician to explore this with you. If medical issues have been ruled out and largely there are emotional issues, then no matter, a child psychiatric referral makes sense especially is the household has been under sustained stress from the child's rages for months.

Tough issue: & one you should not have to face alone. Treatment of bipolar in a child can be complex. If your child is not already being followed by a fellowship trained child psychiatrist (as opposed to general psychiatrist who also sees kids)- really recommend that. A child psychologist will also help you navigate through choppy waters. Take care.
