Safety: Around the end of WWI docs started recommending belly sleeping for babies with no real research to back it up, just thought it was better.By the 1990's, research in different parts of the world showed a decline in crib death for back sleeping infants.Since the change to back sleeping in the 90's. we have seen a 40% drop in crib death (SIDS).
