It is a good: painkiller. Narcotic analgesics are the most efficacious agents available for relief of acute pain. Demerol (meperidine hydrochloride) is opioid and good painkiller. When pain is accompanied by inflammation, NSAIDs are more effective than opioids in managing pain. Ask your doctor for more information.

Demerol (meperidine hydrochloride): Demerol (meperidine hydrochloride) is a short acting drug and highly addictive because of euphoria. Also with too much can cause seizures. There are much better choices these days
