If you are sure it's: Ringworm and using it properly it should work. Be sure to put it 1 inch around the sore three times a day and continue for 5 days after the sore is gone.? If not working get seen .

Ring worm: Without seeing the rash I can not be sure you will respond to lotrimin (clotrimazole). That said, lotrimin (clotrimazole) will typically cure it within a week or two. If you are not sure you have ring worm I would suggest having your doctor check it. If sure, and it improves with it within a week, I would wait and see if you can cure it within 2 weeks.

Lotrimin (clotrimazole) rocks!: Clotrimazole (Lotrimin) antifungals cream successfully treats most dermatophyte and yeast infections. In rare case of antifungals resistance, another non-prescription cream such as Lamisil (terbinafine) AT ( terbenafine) will usually work. If not, see a dermatologist to make sure it is the correct diagnosis.

See answer: Difficult to be precise without seeing the rash or location (shaft or glans, circumcised or not). Ringworm is a misnomer as does not occur or apply to rashes on the penis. Though your rash may be caused by a yeast-like fungus (Rx: antifungal), other causes include irritant or allergic contact dermatitis, or skin-type dermatitis: atopic, lichen planus, psoriatic, etc (Rx: topical steroid). See MD.

OTC treatment: I would use the Lotrimin (clotrimazole) for at least 10-14 days. If that is not working, you could switch to Lamasil spray, cream or gel. Be sure to treat it for 4 days after it seems to be gone to help keep it from coming back. Adding borax to you washing machine cycles can help rid your clothes of fungal organisms.
