A member asked:

What do you suggest if my dad has diabetes, he is 70 years old, on the foot was formed the festering sores, the doctor told as?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not podiatrist: A diabetes clinic will have an endocrinologist ( diabetes specialist), neurologist (neuropathy?), podiatrist (for toenails). There may well be arterial and/or venous-lymphatic issues. A team approach is his best chance for what is likely to be a difficult time ahead. He should not delay as there may be a risk of losing his foot. NO SMOKING!!!!!!!!
