Possibly...: If you have been diagnosed w/ Achilles tendinitis and have not improved w/ NSAIDs , stretching , rest, shoe lifts, etc. than an MRI May be indicated to look for areas of tendon degeneration . Best of Luck!

Yes: At this point, I believe that an MRI would be an appropriate next step to look at the tendon quality and to make sure that it is indeed the Achilles tendon that is causing your pain.
