Yes: An EMT is the first step after First Responder (about 40-60 hrs training) at around 120 hours of training. A Paramedic is the highest level of field EMS provider, requiring 1400-1600 hours to attain in most jurisdictions. EMTs are Basic Life Support providers, P's are Advanced Life Support Providers.
