Contact sports: High myopia, in general, predisposes you to retinal tears & retinal detachment. Sports that have a high level of physical contact, such as boxing, football, basketball, weight lifting, & very strenuous exertional activities may increase your risk. Moderate, non-contact activities are probably fine. But do be weary of sudden flashes & floaters and seek ophthalmological care if symptoms occur.
