Get an exam: See your ophthalmologist, and, if necessary a retinal specialist. Let them check the condition of the peripheral retina for a better answer. Being as near sighted as you are makes risk of a retinal detachment statistically more common, but there is no substitute for an exam, though that in and of itself is also not a guarantee.
