Heavy period: It sounds like a heavy period. It is probably nothing to worry about. You can try using a tampon and overnight pads together to get through it. Talk to your doctor about the pill or Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD if you want to decrease your flow in the future.

Stay hydrated: I know it seems like a lot of bleeding ,but some periods are just that way. Rest as much as possible, feet elevated. Stay hydrated by drinking lots of water. Seek medical attention if dizzy/light-headed or pass out. If this is a common occurrence, time to see your OB about hormonal regulation.

See your doctor: Your doctor can probably help you, after getting a full history and conducting an appropriate exam. It may be as simple as starting the birth control pill, but could be as complex as requiring surgery.
