WBC elevation?: Hi. Monocytes are a subclass of white blood cells. Is your overall WBC count elevated or the absolute monocyte count elevated? That's a very high percentage of monocytes. It can be elevated in certain infections, inflammatory conditions, and leukemias. Ask your doctor what, if anything, needs to be done to evaluate it. Good luck!
