Stem Cells: Check out Regenexx.Com for more info. Basically adult stem cells are usually from your own blood, fat or bone marrow. This clinic is the only one in the country using your own stem cells to heal or repair ACL at this time without surgery. Check to see if you are a candidate.

Achilles' tendon allografts( cadaver) can be used for revision ACL reconstruction . Using one's own Achilles is not recommended for primary or revision ACL reconstruction. My preference for revising a failed ACL recon.is patellar tendon allograft( if the native ACL has already been used or quadruple looped hamstring autograft.

The inside of my knee hurts when I straighten it or put weight on it. It also pops a lot, why? And what may help?

Possible meniscus: You need to be seen by an orthopaedic surgeon to evaluate your knee for a possible meniscus tear. You need an exam and an mri. If torn, arthroscopic surgery can trim the tear and improve your symptoms quickly. This is a picture of your meniscus seen here. It is the shock absorber between the femur and the tibia cartilage surfaces. This one is normal.

A member asked:

My 11 year old son cut his shin open on a piece of metal, does not need stitches, we can't remember when his last tetnus shot was, what are symptoms to look for ? Thank you.

Things to consider. : Your son is 11 years of age and he is due to have a tetanus booster at this age. As for the shin cut, hopefully it was cleaned with hydrogen peroxide and treated with an antibiotic ointment. The best thing to do is to schedule an appointment with his pediatrician or family physician to get his shot and check on his cut.
