A member asked:

Has anyone else had nasty side effects from taking alendronate/fosamax for osteoporosis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Side effects from alendronate and/or fosomax are very common. The most common side effect is gastrointestinal upset. There are other treatments for osteoporosis available if you don't tolerate alendronate and fosomax. Prolia is an injectable medicine that is typically much better tolerated. Discuss it with your doctor.
