Asthma & bronchitis: Asthma and chrinic bronchitis are the early symptoms of COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). If you are a smoker the time to quit is NOW. The first step at your age is to get your asthma under good control and the chronic bronchitis should improve. Consultation with a pulmonologist would be helpful.

Quit smoking: Even a single cigarette would impact your lung adversely so that's one thing you must do right now. The early sign of COPD is that your airway obstruction has become irreversible but I think you are still at an age when stopping smoking may reverse the trend. Smoking also reduces your airway's response to inhaled steroid as well. Quit and you'll be glad that you did.
