Umbilical hernia: An umbilical hernia is not diastasis recti. These hernia are usually congenital unless you have had a prior umbilical incision. The most frequent cause of diastasis in pregnancy, though chronic straining could cause it. You need evaluated for the bloating.

No : Diastasi recti and umbilical hernia look entirely different on physical exam. They can't be confused by a good physician. It is possible to have both though!!
