Very common: Ovarian cysts are very common and can be recurrent and quite painful. The frequency and severity of these may be controlled by oral contraceptive medications. I advise seeing a gynecologist or your primary doctor (if they're comfortable managing these) to discuss the options. It's much better to try to prevent these than treating the pain when they occur.

Ovarian cyst: Explanation may need longer space, but, you have several ovarian follicules that mature to release an ovum during your mestrual cycle. Some of those follicules becomes cystic at times and the inflamation and distension in the area creates the pain. Avoiding maturation of follicules can help with the pain, typically using contraceptive pill to avoid ovulation. Talk to your Obstetrician.
