Morton's neuroma: An enlarged nerve (morton's neuroma) commonly will give symptoms as described . See a foot specialist ( pediatric or orthopedic) for an evaluation . MRI or ultrasound will help confirm. If numbness becomes more generalized then I would start with a neurologist's evaluation.
