Sensitive disc: Your disc, for better or worse, is likely more sensitive than it used to be. Thus coughing, which vibrates your intervertebral disc, can result in pain. The treatment for this is not more rest, which will merely make you weaker and more stiff, but core stabilization exercises. Consult your doctor or physical therapist for proper exercise therapy for enhancing core strength.
