A member asked:

I am hypothyroid patient on thyronorm 100 daily.i am also having osa.is it due to thyroid problem or some other reason.without cpap osa can be cured?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Thyroid deficiency : Hypothyroid patients do not characteristically have obstructive sleep apnea. If you have significant apnea you can loose weight to improve the condition. cPAP will keep the apnea from causing any end organ damage to your heart and lungs if it does not already exist. If you fail cpap you can have surgery but that is a big subject that can not be described in 400 letters. See your ENT doctor.
