MGT: I would suggest a virtual appointment with an uploaded image of the rash. Based on your description a viral rash and/or allergic reaction is possible. I would suggest one to two doses of OTC Claritin to assess whether it relieves the itchiness. A moisturizer such as Aveeno for baby eczema used several times per day should be used to relieve dryness and scaling. PCP follow up advised.

Need to see the rash: Rashes have different appearances and having a fever 2 days ago make it more likely to be infectious as a cause. I would suggest a consult and I can look at the rash and give you a possible diagnosis. If it is skin tone colored, it might be scarlet fever, and that would entail antibiotics, but it is hard to know without seeing the rash.
