Varies: It depends on the type of injection. If you are geting a joiint or bursa injection you could take some tylenol (acetaminophen) and then after the injection if you start to get pain at the injection site apply ice for 15-20 minutes every 3-4 hours. There are other injections of deep nerves around the groin/buttock for nerve pain. Same treatment for injection site pain.
