Complications: There are many, acute complications of surgery. Some complications are chronic. Talk to your surgeon before and after the intervention.

As with all surgery.: The complications (I think this is what you mean by after effects) are universal. Pain, bleeding, infection, wound dehiscence (opening) bowel dysfunction, blood clot formation, unintentional damage to other organs and possible need for return to the OR. Most surgeries have a specific set of post op signs to watch for. If in doubt ask your surgeon. Also the surgery can fail to relieve the problem.
