Repeat & lose weight: MPV is the mean platelet volume, which is an indicator of larger, more reactive platelets resulting from increased platelet turnover. Compared to low MPV patients, patients with high MPV tend to have higher hemoglobin A1C (a marker of diabetes control) and are at higher risk for cardiovascular complications and mortality.
