I am on effexor (venlafaxine) 75mg but i forget to take pills is it a bad thing to take it randomly? like one today then wait a week and take it 4 days in a row?

It is bad: Almost all antidepressants are designed to be taken every day, these are not "as needed" medications. There needs to be a consistent level of medication in your system in order for the medication to work. Venlafaxine (Effexor) is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) that is effective for depression and some types of anxiety. Missing even one dose can cause rebound depression.
