Ankle pain: Have you had X-ray done? Consultation with an orthopedist may be indicated, and MRI might be necessary to evaluate it further.

Seek further input: It sounds like you were evaluated already. But two things. One if you haven't had an x-ray, it may be reasonable if the pain continues and is severe. If you have had an x-ray, you may have suffered more significant soft tissue like ligamentous damage, that needs to be addressed.
