HIV: Testing for antibodies should be repeated at 3 and 6 months after exposure. The basic tests are very sensitive, but some patients are slow to develop antibodies. If you want a far more specific and definitive way of reassuring yourself ask for a PCR for HIV RNA. It is a little pricey.
