Why do airline pilots get melanoma more frequently than the general public. i have a hard time believing it is because they fly to sunny places & tan?

Cosmic rays: I do not know that pilots get melanoma more than general public, if they do, it may be due more frequent exposure to cosmic rays at high altitude.

Radiation: The levels of cosmic radiation increase with altitude. The theory is that since they are at an increased altitude more often, they are exposed to an increased level of cosmic radiation which in turn increases their risk of melanoma.
