Alot more complex: The science of hedonia is complex and still young. It is most certianly not as simple as the media would portray in via tasty and tidy soundbites such as "too little dopamine". DA does play a role in reward pathways in via the VTA and NA but it is only one of several NTs involved. Intracellular mechanisms are likely much more relevant, particularly shown via epi-genetics work these past 20 yrs.
